The Ruth Strauss Foundation supports families facing the devastating loss of a parent to cancer and is driving vital research into non-smoking lung cancers.
Their mission is twofold
Family Mission:
Ensuring every family with children facing the death of a parent receives professional emotional support to help prepare for the future.
Research Mission:
Encouraging collaboration and funding research to improve outcomes and find the causes of non-smoking lung cancers sooner.
This cause is deeply personal to the Douglas family at Avon Valley. Doug's lifelong friend, Rob Collingwood who attended university with Doug and Hannah before serving in the Army together later flew for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance and was often seen flying over Avon Valley en route to Bristol Hospital.
Rob was diagnosed with non-smoking lung cancer and sadly passed away in April 2023. His wife Hattie and their children, Thomas and Lulu, have been supported by the Ruth Strauss Foundation.
By joining Avon Valley, you're helping ensure other families receive that same vital support.
Have Fun. Make a Difference. Light Up the Night.
Hop to it book your tickets now and help make this year's event the most meaningful yet.
