About
Join Professor and author Jerry Brotton for a special talk about Renaissance maps.
Renaissance maps sit between science and art, myth and reality, memory and loss. In this talk, the writer and map historian Jerry Brotton will take us on a journey of exploration into how Renaissance mapmakers from across the globe oriented themselves in time and space through the four points of the compass: north, south, east and west.
Jerry Brotton is a professor of Renaissance studies at Queen Mary University of London. He is the author of many books on maps, including the bestselling A History of the World in Twelve Maps. He is also a curator of art and maps, and presents the podcast, 'What's Your Map?'.
