About

Tanabata Celebration at the Museum

Attendees are invited to join the Museum in celebrating Tanabata, the Japanese Star Festival. Visitors can learn the story of the star-crossed lovers who can only meet for one day each year and take part in drop-in craft activities to make tanzaku wishing strips.

This event is held in collaboration with the Herschel Museum of Astronomy in Bath. Guests can enjoy a day of family fun by visiting both museums. With a MEAA ticket, visitors receive 50% off entrance at the Herschel Museum and can hang their wishing strip on one of the garden trees. Similarly, those with a Herschel Museum receipt receive 50% off entry to MEAA.
