BRLSI's annual Shakespeare's birthday celebration!

Transforming live stage onto the big screen – how does it work? Come on a journey through the backstage and offscreen arena where decisions are made that reshape theatrical productions of Shakespeare's plays for a present-day audience.

The talk will pay particular attention to examples where broadcast technologies aim to remain invisible to screen audiences in order to produce a sense of theatrical immersion.

Speaker: Pascale Aebischer, Professor of Shakespeare and Early Modern Performance Studies at the University of Exeter.
