About
The Rondo Theatre Company presents an evening of comedy, music and drama with the Rondo Variety Show.
Hosted by Nat Prescott, well-known on the Bath comedy circuit from regular appearances at Barrel of Laughs and the Poor Man's Fringe, the Variety Show will feature a range of local comedians and musicians alongside actors from the Rondo Theatre Company.
This is the Rondo Theatre Company's annual charity show, with all profits going to the 'Revamp the Rondo' fundraiser, which aims to replace the well-loved seats at the Rondo Theatre.
Each evening will begin with a performance of the brand-new, one-act play, 'Yeah, Art Figures' by Kim E. Ruyle, who recently won Best Stage Play and Best Script Overall at the Scriptwriters & Co International Festival. The play, directed by Benjamin Hardy-Phillips, sees disgruntled teacher Frank bemoan the ignorance of his students to substitute teacher, Joni. In conversation with Joni and other teachers, Frank discovers that his ignorance, in some ways, surpasses that of his students.
Following the play will be a stand-up comedy set and a live musical performance from a variety of local performers...
Wednesday 27th March
Comedy from Holly Leggett, a gloriously gloomy, Bath-based stand-up comedian whose humour has been described as unique, acerbic and... only a little bit dirty.
Music from Craig Mitchell's Jukebox Mashup, which sees audience member's song suggestions mashed together in one epic masterpiece live onstage.
Thursday 28th March
Comedy from Sam Hawkins, whose distinctive blend of playful interactions, unwavering charisma and stories from a tumultuous upbringing has been honed through hosting and producing shows across the South West.
Music from Humm, Bath-based contemporary folk duo, Arty Jackson and Carys Lewin, who were chosen from hundreds as one of four acts to visit, write and perform at Sir Paul McCartney's childhood home, 20 Forthlin Road, Liverpool as part of the Forthlin Sessions in 2022.
Friday 29th March 2023
Comedy from Millie Malone, the 'people's princess of Bristol comedy' whose unique voice, that is as poisonous as it is charming, and surreal and punch-line heavy sets saw her shortlisted for the BBC New Comedy Award.
Music from Susie Mills, who seamlessly blends folk, pop and soul, enchanting listeners with her gentle voice, introspective lyrics, and soothing melodies.
Saturday 30th March 2023
Comedy from Tom Hutchinson, red-haired rising star of the South West and Bath New Act 2022 Finalist, who brims with high energy absurdism and sparky tangents, bringing everything from wild improvisations and witty asides to introspective anecdotes and relatable ramblings.
