About

Join the Museum of East Asian Art to celebrate Tanabata, the Japanese Star Festival. Learn the story of the star-crossed lovers and how they can only meet for one day of the year. Take part in our drop-in craft activities and make tanzaku wishing strips.

This event is held in collaboration with the Herschel Museum of Astronomy. Make it a day of family fun with a visit to both museums. Pop over there with a MEAA ticket for 50% off entrance and hang your wishing strip on one of their garden trees. You can also receive 50% off entry to MEAA with a Herschel Museum receipt.

Children enter for free. Adults pay standard admission price, with no additional charges for activities.
