About

Considered to be one of the most important photographers of the 20th century, Werner Bischof's images explored what it is to be human. Famed for black and white photojournalism of the post-war world, Bishof also used the Devin Tricolor camera for fashion, still life and documentary work. Years after his death, his son Marco discovered the negatives taken by the camera and worked with a scanning specialist to recreate the lost prints. The resulting photos have an incredible resolution and unmistakable colour intensity.

Unseen Colour presents a treasure trove of previously unknown colour images from the late 1930s and early 1940s. Find it in the Fox Talbot Museum from 31 May 2025 - 31 May 2026, included in the cost of general admission.
