About
Eat. Sleep. Diarrhoea. Spoons?
A twenty-something woman with a high-flying career is suddenly struck down by the debilitating chronic illness: Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME). Bed-bound and thrust into a new world of strange symptoms, she quickly realises just how invisible her illness makes her.
As she searches for answers within a broken healthcare system, she learns more about herself than she could ever have imagined, discovering that sometimes our biggest challenges can be our strongest superpowers.
Written by University of Bath Alumnus Hollie Christian-Brookes and inspired by her own farcical experiences, YAWN spotlights the harsh realities of having a hidden disability; whilst delivering a powerful message of hope and (hopefully) some laughs along the way…
YAWN returns to the stage following its premiere at the 2025 Cheltenham Fringe Festival, where audiences praised the show as "heartfelt and funny in equal measure", "Very relatable", and "Educational and entertaining at the same time".
Tickets: £12 | Concessions: £10 (Under 18's, Over 60's and disabled)
