One of Bath's famous sights visible from almost anywhere in the city is Bath Abbey. With a small suggested donation on entry, it’s certainly worth exploring this magnificent building and its stunning interior. Or, spend an afternoon exploring the Victoria Art Gallery, which offers free entry to the permanent collection.

Enjoy some time to yourselves on a range of self-guided romantic rambles across the city, such as the National Trust's three mile 'Bath Skyline' walking route, which takes in grand streets, pretty public gardens, peaceful canal paths and beautiful meadows, culminating in a stunning viewpoint over the city. If you want to extend the walk, you can continue on the longer, six-mile route.

After all that walking, rest your legs together in the soothing thermal water at Thermae Bath Spa. A variety of spa packages are available, and ticket prices are lower on weekdays if you also want to avoid the crowds!

Treat your partner to a show at the Theatre Royal Bath, but on a budget! Great-value standby tickets can be purchased from their box office on the day of the performance. Komedia Bath also have regular free live music in their Electric Bar, as well as plenty of gigs and comedy shows for around £10 per person.
