Green Park Brasserie & Bath Pizza Co

These sister restaurants, set in the quirky surroundings of a former railway station, are two of Bath's most popular restaurants for a reason. Not only will you enjoy delicious seasonal dishes crafted using the finest local ingredients as well as award-winning pizza, but you'll also be serenanded by live music performances four nights a week, offering the perfect warm-up act before your show. Plus, the Theatre Royal and Komedia are both just a five-minute walk away, so you won't have to rush! 

Stop by Green Park Brasserie every weekday between 12 and 6pm to savour a burger of your choice, fries, and a beer for £14.95, or switch to a steak for just £19.95. Kids are well catered for too, with mini variations on tried and tested favourites including burgers and fish and chips from £7.95, available seven days a week.

Next door at Bath Pizza Co, take your pick from the restaurant's scrumptious selection of pizza accompanied by a pint or Prosecco for £12.50 between 12 and 6pm every weekday.

Giggling Squid

Situated directly opposite the Theatre Royal and around the corner from Komedia, this large, airy restaurant serves up flavourful Thai cuisine prepared by expert chefs. The menu features everything from fish and meat to vegan and vegetarian options, as well as a variety of sharing platters. Will you go for one of the classic dishes, including Massaman Curry and Pad Thai, or a more innovative creation, such as the salt & pepper squid?

Bandook

Excite your taste buds with delightful dishes inspired by India's vibrant street food culture at Bandook. The wide-ranging menu offers everything from light bites including the restaurant's signature chaats, to more substantial meals such as curry bowls, tandoori murgh, and many more. The cosy restaurant is nestled in the peaceful courtyards of Milsom Place, just a short walk from the Theatre Royal and Komedia

Cosy Club

You'll usually be able to find a seat at this large and quirky lounge restaurant, located in Southgate. Share some tapas-style small plates before you head to the show, or decide to start the night in style with their offer of two cocktails for £12.95 from 4pm-8pm (Sunday to Friday).

Côte Brasserie Bath

Côte Brasserie, also based in Milsom Place, delivers a taste of France in the heart of Bath. Lounge indoors or out on the terrace, and tuck in to a vast selection of dishes celebrating French cuisine, including everything from moules frites to beef bourguignon, as well as steaks, burgers, and even roast dinners with a twist! You'll also find lighter options perfect for sharing, such as a charcuterie board, cheese soufflé, crab maison, and many more.

Flute

Just up the road from Milsom Place is Bath's newest seafood restaurant, Flute, serving a range of beloved British dishes featuring the finest ingredients from Devon and Cornwall. Keep it simple with a classic fish and chips, or push the boat out with the spectacular seafood boil for two, including whole king prawns, clams, mussels sausage, and corn. Top it all off with a glass of wine or a cocktail from the restaurant's extensive selection.

Robun

Transport yourself to East Asia next door at Robun, which offers authentic Japanese food cooked over a traditional charcoal grill. The varied menu features sushi, sashimi, ramen, bento boxes, and bao buns, as well as an exclusive afternoon tea laden with treats such as tempura futomaki, yellowtail aburi nigiri, chicken karaage and mochi ice cream, along with a choice of Japanese teas. The restaurant offers limited time offers throughout the year, so keep checking back regularly to see what deals you might be able to enjoy on your pre-theatre meals!

Cappadocia

One of Bath's only Turkish restaurants, Cappadocia lends itself perfectly to pre-theatre dining, with a range of delectable dishes ripe for the sharing. Take your pick from hot and cold mezes to start, chargrilled meat mains including kebabs, koftas and steak, signature Turkish dishes such as Mutancana, Kuzu Tandir and Incik, as well as a selection of grilled fish, yoghurt-based dishes, and options for vegans and vegetarians. If you can't decide what to go for (and who could blame you), treat yourself to the 'Cappa Four Courses,' including one hot and one cold meze, your choice of main, and a baklava at £41 for one and £76 for two.

Noya's Kitchen 

Tucked away on the intimate ground floor of a Georgian townhouse situated between the Theatre Royal and Komedia to the north, and The Forum to the south, is the award-winning Noya's Kitchen. Here, you can experience gorgeous Vietnamese dishes freshly prepared by Noya every lunchtime and evening from Tuesday to Sunday, including pho, summer rolls, dumplings, curries and noodles.

Pieminister 

The Bath branch of this popular, Bristol-born chain is an ideal spot for casual dining, and highly convenient for Komedia and the Theatre Royal, being located next door to the former and just a stone's throw from the latter. Choose from a collection of hearty pies, all packed to the brim with traditional British fillings, such as steak and ale, wild venison, and stilton, to name a few. The restaurant also offers a variety of plant-based, vegetarian, and gluten free pies, ensuring that everyone is well catered for.
