The Jane Austen Festival
Visit Bath during the Jane Austen Festival for an immersive Regency experience. Walk alongside 500 costumed Jane Austen fans in the spectacular, opening Grand Regency Costumed Promenade. The highlight of the festival for many, this record-breaking event beings at the Holburne Museum and continues across Pulteney Bridge, past many landmarks in central Bath.
Throughout the rest of the festival, join other Jane Austen fans on guided walks and day trips, sit back and enjoy talks, music recitals and concerts or get hands on at workshops and dance classes. In addition to the programme of events, The Jane Austen Centre and Regency Tea Room will be open daily for visitors to learn more about Jane Austen, or sample a traditional afternoon tea.

Find out about Jane's life at the Jane Austen Centre all year round. The Jane Austen Centre offers a snapshot of what it would be like to live in the Georgian times - the fashion, food, society - everything that would have inspired Austen’s timeless novels. The Centre also explores how the city of Bath impacted upon Jane Austen’s life and writing in much-loved books such as Northanger Abbey and Persuasion.

Immersive Jane Austen Experience at No. 1 Royal Crescent
An immersive 'Jane Austen in Bath' experience at No.1 Royal Crescent will allow visitors to experience what life would've been like for Jane in a Georgian townhouse in Bath.
Built between 1767 and 1774, the Royal Crescent is justly considered one of the finest achievements of eighteenth-century urban architecture. No.1 was the first house to be built in the Crescent, and originally provided luxury accommodation for aristocratic visitors who came to take the waters and enjoy the social season.
