About

The right have hijacked Englishness. Can it be reclaimed?

Joining Bath Festival will be leading environmental campaigner and Britain's only Green MP, Caroline Lucas, as she shares her latest book, "Another England." In conversation with Max Porter, this event promises to be thought-provoking, delving deep into the national history of England and challenging the narratives pushed by Brexit supporters who advocate for exceptionalism and imperial nostalgia.

Lucas will explore England's progressive spirit and its relevance to contemporary issues such as Empire, constitutional reform, and the climate emergency. By shining a light on alternative stories, she aims to inspire us all to embrace a vision for a greener, fairer future.
