About

Join Cotswolds Wardens to do the whole 20.5 miles of the Circuit of Bath over one weekend. You can do one day, either day or both days.

Trained guides are available to assist people with visual impairments – please get in touch to discuss.

All walks by the Voluntary Wardens are free of charge however, donations are very much appreciated and are usually collected at the end of the walk.

Please always remember to wear appropriate footwear because some walks may be steep and muddy in places. Assistance dogs (only) are welcome on walks. Warden Leaders will take all reasonable care and precautions, but each walker is ultimately responsible for their own safety, and for determining their capability to complete the chosen walk.

Tickets are FREE.

Day 1 - Odd Down to Batheaston via Englishcombe, Weston, Lansdown and Solsbury Hill

11.2 miles, with public transport back to the start.

The group will start from the Odd Down Park and Ride, do remember to pay for parking, and walk to the pretty village of Englishcombe.

From there, you'llfollow the Newton Brook towards Bath Mill for a short while before climbing towards Carr’s Wood. Then head towards Weston and start the climb up to Lansdown, checking the views as you go. You'll stay on the plateau for a bit before descending to the Woolley Valley. From there, you'll climb towards Upper Swainswick and then onto Little Solsbury Hill, where you can savour the views back towards Bath. From there, you'll descend towards Batheaston, the end point for the day.

Guided by your walk leaders, you will return to the start point using public transport. Bring snacks and a packed lunch.

Day 2 - Batheaston to Odd Down via Bathampton Meadows, the Kennet and Avon Canal, Brassknocker Basin and the Somerset Coal Canal

9.4 miles, with public transport back to the start.

Start from the public car park at Batheaston. Please note the car park is small; if it is full, please park considerately on local roads.

You'll cross the River Avon and walk across the National Trust’s Bathampton Meadows, from there you will walk along the Kennet and Avon canal to the Brassknocker Basin. You'll then follow the Midford Brook to Monkton Combe through Tucking Mill to Midford. Then follow the route of the disused Somerset Coal Canal before ascending to the Millennium View Point and the short level walk to the Odd Down Park and Ride.

Guided by your walk leaders, you will return to the start point using public transport. Bring snacks and a packed lunch.
