About
Enjoy a summer’s evening of outdoor theatre in the spectacular gardens at The American Museum & Gardens, complete with sweeping valley views.
Performed by The Lord Chamberlain's Men, this production of Othello brings one of William Shakespeare’s most captivating and thrilling tragedies to life in a unique open-air setting.
The play follows Othello, the Moor of Venice and a respected General in the Venetian army, who promotes the young Cassio to Lieutenant over Iago, a soldier in his service. This decision sparks Iago’s deep-seated resentment, setting in motion a devastating chain of vengeance and manipulation. As Iago weaves his web, he poisons Othello’s mind against Desdemona—his secretly married wife—leading to a tragic unravelling with far-reaching consequences.
Guests are encouraged to bring their own seating or a blanket, settle in, and enjoy the performance. Drinks and snacks will be available to purchase from the American Garden Deli before the show begins.
