About

Two days of meditative stitching and you will create a gorgeous lampshade for your home.

You will learn all of the steps to cut, fit and hand sew a tailored shade in the grounds of the beautiful Bowood House & Gardens.

I have lots of beautiful fabric for you to choose from but please feel free to bring your own as well and we can see if it will be suitable.

ON THE DAY

• You will learn how to prepare the frame.

• You will cut, fit and stitch using traditional techniques.

• You will create a balloon lining.

• Your shade will be finished with a handstitched bias edge.

• All materials are included.

• Your fee includes entrance to Bowood House and Gardens.

• Lunch is not included but you will be entitled to a discount in the café.

• Contact me directly if you would like to stay in the luxurious Bowood Hotel with a special discount.

• Handstitched shades can be fiddly and hard on your hands. Please consider this if you have any issues with your hands and wrists.

• After the course, you are welcome to wander the grounds and Bowood House at leisure. Please note Bowood House & Gardens closes at 5:00pm. No dogs allowed.
