About
Comedian, actor, author and singer-songwriter Eric Idle returns to Bath to discuss his new memoir, Idle in Provence: A Brief History of Thyme.
In this hilarious and heartfelt memoir, Idle recounts the story of purchasing a ramshackle property in the south of France in 1971, just two years after the launch of Monty Python’s Flying Circus catapulted the comedy troupe to international fame. Spanning fifty years, Idle in Provence follows his search for a simpler life filled with friendship, mishap, heartbreak, humour — and plenty of spam.
Best known for his work with Monty Python, Idle also co-wrote classic films including Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Monty Python’s Life of Brian and Monty Python’s The Meaning of Life, as well as the award-winning musical Spamalot.
Please note that Eric Idle will not participate in a public signing and books will not be signed.
