Discover more of the sun's secrets with the Herschel Museum of Astronomy's pop-up planetarium, and experience the sun like never before with Luke Jerram's Helios.
A presenter led show using content from the European Southern Observatory catalogue about our nearest star – discover what is happening on the Sun's surface and how that is affecting all of us down on Earth. How does the Sun support life and what will happen as its energy fades. Look at other stars that you can see from Earth and discover how to recognise them in the night sky.
This show is suitable for older children and adults and supports curriculum objectives for KS2/3 and 4. All this alongside visiting Helios, the a brand-new 7-metre diameter sculpture by artist, Luke Jerram with rippling lights, solar imagery and sounds of the sun recorded by NASA.
