About
From Groningen in the Netherlands, shoom do that thing that a Bell audience likes, wild blowing over an unstoppable beat, but in this case with more contemporary influences than just the revered funkmasters and psychedelians, alongside Talking Heads, Black Midi, and a different way with an electric guitar.
This is their 2nd visit to Britain: it's great to catch a band when they're first catching fire, with small international tours, headline slots at big showcase events: after a summer of the sort of festivals they did last year chances are they'd be too big for us next time round, but someone told them The Bell was a good place to go and we can show them they were correct.
In a masterpiece of internationalese, the band describe themselves as "where jazz meets the mosh pit: shoom is a rabid raccoon, chasing a final, heavenly high through a instrumental fever dream…" Sounds like Wednesday Night to us…
