About

Spend a creative day experimenting with leaf printing in a beautiful historic setting in Bath. Guided by artist and designer Clare Walsh, participants will learn how to select suitable leaves for printing and how to prepare them for use with a heat press.

The morning will be spent preparing both the leaves and the fabric backgrounds. After lunch, attendees will print their own unique and often surprising botanical designs onto fabric, combining creativity with natural elements.

Clare Walsh, a designer, maker, and experienced workshop tutor, will lead the session. Drawing inspiration from nature, Clare uses leaves, flowers, and herbs to create original designs, which she screen prints onto natural linen. In addition to her expertise, she brings along a fascinating collection of hand-carved Indian printing blocks, often featured in her workshops. More about Clare and her work can be found at clarewalshdesign.co.uk.

This relaxed and welcoming workshop is suitable for all abilities and is open to participants aged 16 and above. All materials are provided. Tea and coffee will be available throughout the day; participants are kindly asked to bring their own lunch.
