About

No.1 Royal Crescent is excited to announce its monthly children's creative workshops, led by talented local artists. These fun and engaging sessions introduce children to various art-making techniques, offering a unique opportunity to explore their creativity.

Upcoming Workshop:

Photography Portraits

Date: 3 August

Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Participants will practice photography and learn about Georgian portraits. They will have the chance to experiment with both old and new cameras, taking photographic portraits inspired by the paintings at No.1 Royal Crescent. The workshop will explore how these portraits depicted the fashion and style of the era, allowing children to create their own modern-day versions using costumes and props. All cameras and equipment will be provided.

Suitable for Ages: 8-14

Cost: £10 per child; £9 concession (available if the child or their parent/carer receives Universal Credit, Tax Credits, Disability Living Allowance, or Personal Independence Payments)

Important Information:

Children are encouraged to attend by themselves if possible; please contact the museum if this presents a barrier to attendance.

Sessions will be held in the Servant's Hall during museum open hours. The room is wheelchair accessible, and a disabled toilet is nearby.

Parents waiting may wish to visit the museum and consider purchasing an annual pass. There are also several cafes within a five-minute walk.

About the Artist: Abigail Tinnion, a visual artist and folklorist based in the southwest, is passionate about history, stories, creatures, and imagination.
