About
At Westonbirt, The National Arboretum's Community Woodland in Silk Wood they are re-planting an area of woodland cleared due to ash dieback. Every step of the woodland regeneration is being carried out by volunteers, community groups and schools. Come along and help this project with a day of mulching and tree care!
This day will involve a 20-minute guided walk from the Welcome Building to the planting site where you will carry out a variety of maintenance tasks including mulching around the trees, checking and re-applying their guards and surveying their health. All equipment and training will be provided and volunteers will be able to work within their comfort zones carrying out as many or as little of these tasks as they would like.
There will be self-led scavenger hunts and craft activities if you need a break from the physical work. Perfect for anyone looking to get involved in nature recovery and learn more about our native woodlands.
Suitable for adults and families with children over 7.
To register your interest email swcpp@forestryengland.uk with the number of adults and children in your group. You will then be sent an email with the full details of the day.
