About
Ottoman Egypt anyone? Was modern science really a product of the European Renaissance? This talk takes in the global picture.
Modern science is typically understood as a product of the European Renaissance, but is this view far too narrow? This talk looks at how other cultures across the world – from Ming China to Ottoman Egypt – also experienced their own "renaissances", and how as a consequence, science was transformed, not just in Europe, but on a global scale!
