About

Experience the wonders of a traditional Japanese Tea Ceremony with Yukie Williams and presented by Yukie Scott.

Yukie Williams has over 11 years’ experience practising Japanese tea ceremonies, known as sadō (茶道), inspired by her early years in Japan. This intimate demonstration will give you an insight into the cultural traditions surrounding the Japanese Tea Ceremony and the chance to taste authentic matcha tea.

During the session you will learn about the details and meaning behind each step of the ceremony.

This special Lunar New Year version of the Museum of East Asian Art's Japanese Tea Ceremony will be held at Comins Tea House. With a passion for loose leaf tea, Comins aims to bring this pleasure into the everyday. Their Tea House in Bath can be found on Monmouth Street, next door to the Ustinov Theatre, and has been providing a calm and peaceful haven for exploring their selection of fine teas since 2016.
