American Museum in Britain
Situated within 125 acres of beautiful grounds, with stunning views across the Limpley Stoke Valley, the American Museum in Britain is home to the finest collection of Americana outside of the United States.
An interactive American heritage exhibition and series of attractive period rooms dating from colonial times until the Civil War display an outstanding collection of folk and decorative arts, showing the diverse and complex nature of American traditions.
The American Museum’s collection of over 200 quilts is acclaimed as the finest of its type in Europe. And the museum is also home to an inspiring Folk-Art gallery and fascinating map exhibition.
Each year a special annual exhibition (March–October) showcases a different aspect of American life and history and the museum is transformed with a spectacular festive display during the Christmas period.
