The Crystal Palace
One of Bath's oldest and most cherished historic inns, The Crystal Palace has been extensively refurbished and boasts a homely and comfortable environment with the warmth and welcome of a traditional country inn, right in the heart of Bath with real fires for colder days and a large patio garden to the rear which is covered and heated for year round alfresco dining.
This beautiful Grade II listed traditionally-styled country pub got its name in commemoration of the Great Exhibition which was taking place in London in 1851. During that period, the pub was converted from a boarding house which, it is believed, was frequented by Admiral Nelson.
The Crystal Palace and its immediate neighbours are on the side of a Roman Villa and many people claim that the pub is haunted by Romans. Probably the only spirit that you will encounter these days will be in a glass but you never know!
