Somerset Lavender Farm
With around five acres of lavender and around 50,000 plants, this family-run working lavender farm offers visitors spectacular views across its lavender fields in a quiet and relaxing environment. Visitors are invited to stroll around the garden and take in the soothing scent of lavender or to sit and admire the scenery from the rose arbour.
If you are interested in growing some lavender bushes of your own, the lavender garden is home to 20 different varieties as well as a healing garden with plants such as thyme, lemon balm, arnica and echinacea. Plants are available for purchase and practical advice is on hand to help you with the care and maintenance of your lavender plant.
For those interested in the farming element, tours of the distillery are run during the harvest where you can view the machinery and learn about how the lavender is planted, harvested and distilled for the essential oil.
Somerset Lavender’s collection of small animals will entertain younger visitors and there is also a farm shop stocking lavender products and gifts as well as a small café serving tea, cake and light lunches.
