The Mission Theatre
Housed within a 200-year-old Grade II former chapel, The Mission Theatre is an independently-run performing arts venue in the centre of Bath. The Mission Theatre’s 150-seater main auditorium and 50-seater theatre each play host to a wide and varied selection of drama, dance and music events throughout the year.
The Mission is regularly used by professional touring companies and musicians, local and national dance troupes, high-class amateur dramatic societies, student theatre groups and has its own resident Theatre Company, Next Stage, which produces up to ten shows per year.
A thriving and highly acclaimed youth theatre for 11-18-year-olds, Next Stage Youth, meets at the theatre every week and stages at least two productions a year.
The Mission Theatre operates a fully licenced bar which opens 45 minutes before most shows and events, and serves a wide range of drinks, snacks and Marshfield Ice Creams to enjoy before a show, or during an interval.
The Mission Theatre plays host to a variety of festivals throughout the year, including Bath Comedy Festival, The Bath Festival, The Jane Austen Festival and The Children’s Literature Festival.
