Opening Times

Season (22 Nov 2025 - 4 Jan 2026)

About

Visit this special house at Christmas, see the rooms dressed for the festival season and enjoy the traditions and celebrations of a Georgian Christmas told through stories and poems throughout the house.

This immersive experience runs on a timed loop. Please arrive at least 5 minutes before your ticket slot, to ensure you do not miss any of your experience.

For those seeking an enchanting evening experience, the museum’s “A Candlelit Christmas” late opening on 18 December offers the chance to explore the house after dark, illuminated by candlelight and filled with the warmth of Georgian hospitality.

We recommend that you purchase a guidebook or access the museum guide app to support your visit, available on the door when you arrive.

Animals of Aesop’s Fables’ Family Trail

Hares, foxes and even a tortoise are hiding around the house! Come and find some of the mischievous creatures featured in these classic children’s stories. No booking required. Free with museum entry (children enter the museum for free with a paying adult)

Meet Father Christmas (6 - 21 December)

Father Christmas is making a special stop at No.1 Royal Crescent again this year, and would like to read a Christmas story to the children and give them a gift. Each session will last around 30 minutes. Your Meet Father Christmas ticket does not grant you access to the Museum. Tickets £15

Festive Afternoon Tea with Choux Box Patisserie (19 December)

Enjoy a fabulously festive afternoon tea in the charming surroundings of No.1 Royal Crescent, served in the historic Servants’ Hall and hosted by Choux Box Patisserie. Vegetarian option also available. Tickets £43.50. Each ticket includes a one-hour tea experience followed by time to explore the museum at your leisure.
