Bath has a range of outstanding luxury and boutique hotels which have been awarded a MICHELIN Key in the MICHELIN Guide, read on to see who came out on top...

Lucknam Park

This five-star luxury hotel was awarded three MICHELIN Keys in 2025 and designated 'an extraordinary place to stay'. Set in a grand country house among 500 acres of gardens and parkland, there is plenty to enjoy, from the spa facilities to tennis courts, archery, horseriding and clay pigeon shooting. The hotel also boasts not one but two restaurants, including Restaurant Hywel Jones by Lucknam Park, which was awarded its 20th consecutive MICHELIN Star in 2025.

The Michelin Guide says: "The hotel’s 29 rooms and 13 suites, newly and massively renovated, are stuffed to the gills with atmosphere and antiques - though more aggressively comfortable than overweeningly opulent, there is no show of restraint in the décor. Larger suites feature four-poster beds, some high enough to require footstools for a step up, and a sitting room where one could entertain suitors or gaze out over the estate and the gardens... Alongside the all-day Walled Garden restaurant is the fine-dining Restaurant Hywel Jones by Lucknam Park, a tour de force of organic ingredients and fastidious technique."

The Newt in Somerset

This stunning country house hotel was also awarded three MICHELIN Keys, with its mix of modern design and lively feel in a grand Georgian estate. The hotel has also been listed in the Top 50 Hotels in the World.

Live like a lord in this 17th Century mansion by taking tea in the Library, playing croquet on the lawn or having a game of badminton. The gardens, farmland, lakes and orchards help to sustain a healthy ecosystem, and they grow much of the produce used in their food and drink on site - even the spa treatments use ingredients from their physic garden!

The Michelin Guide says: "Two hours from London and half an hour from Glastonbury is one of England’s finest country-house hotels. The Newt in Somerset dates back to 1687, but has only been a hotel since 2019; despite its novelty, it delivers a remarkably rich experience, complete with vast gardens, woodlands, a working cyder mill, a replica Roman villa, and a honeybee megalopolis known locally as Beezantium. Its rooms are divided between the original limestone house and the Farmyard outbuildings; highlights include a spa with an indoor-outdoor pool and the Farmyard Kitchen restaurant, which makes effective use of produce from the estate’s gardens."

The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa

Praised for its traditional elegance and quietness, this iconic Bath hotel was awarded two MICHELIN Keys in 2025.

Expect five-star treatment from the moment you're greeted by the doorman on your way in, with grand rooms, pristene gardens and a tranquil spa to make your stay extra special. Don't miss out on the opportunity to enjoy their classic afternoon tea, with an optional flute or flight of Taittinger Champagne.

The Michelin Guide says: "...the rooms and suites are as comfortable as can be, with rich four-poster beds and marble baths; though the in-room baths of course pale in comparison to the hotel’s airy, light-filled spa. Of course there’s no law that says when in Bath, you must do as the Romans did — other leisure options include the Library, the Pavilion Conservatory, the gardens, and Montagu’s Mews, the hotel’s flagship restaurant and bar."

  • Sample a Michelin-rated menu at Montagu's Mews, or take tea in the garden

The Bath Priory Hotel

With just 33 bedrooms across two large properties, The Bath Priory was awarded one MICHELIN Key for its contemporary classic style and calm setting. It's a great choice to relax after a busy day of sightseeing in the city, whether you choose to unwind in the garden, take a dip in one of the pools or enjoy a massage in the Garden Spa by L'Occitane.

The Michelin Guide says: "Two adjoining Georgian houses with formal gardens, an outdoor pool and an intimate spa. Country house guest areas are filled with antiques and oil paintings, and luxurious bedrooms blend the old and the new. Dine in the elegant restaurant, the more informal Pantry or out on the terrace."

Homewood

This lively and eclectic Georgian country house hotel was awarded one MICHELIN Key and offers a contemporary twist on a rural break, with stylish decor, statement artworks and modern conveniences in every room. Some suites even have their own hot tub!

The Michelin Guide says: "Perhaps it’s the location a few minutes outside of Bath proper that allows the Homewood Hotel & Spa to take some liberties with the typically traditional local style. This handsome Georgian country house is packed with personality, from the topiary teddy bear to the colorful and eclectic rooms and suites. The expansive indoor-outdoor spa is enough to ensure you won’t miss Bath’s baths, and the restaurant, Olio, serves a hybrid British-Mediterranean cuisine crafted from local products."

The Gainsborough Bath Spa

One of the grandest hotels in the city, The Gainsborough was awarded one MICHELIN Key and manages to pack in an impressive amount of facilities for a city centre hotel. It’s the only hotel in town that accesses Bath's geothermal spring, which you can enjoy in the Spa Village across the various pools as well as in the bathrooms of selected rooms.

The Michelin Guide says: "The style is classic, from the columns of the amber-tinted stone facade to the rooms, which are an elegant and colorful update on the period-appropriate Georgian and Victorian styles. In all ways besides the visual, however, it’s a totally modern luxury hotel, from the comforts in the guest rooms to the cuisine in the Gainsborough Restaurant... It’s not often a newcomer can so thoroughly encapsulate the historical essence of a place, but the Gainsborough seems destined to become more or less synonymous with Bath."

The Queensberry Hotel

Awarded one Michelin Key, this charming boutique hotel, set across four Georgian townhouses, is packed to the rafters with fun stylings and features. Each room is individually styled and has its own colour theme - which will be your favourite?

The Michelin Guide says: "The Queensberry is full of personality, without ever laying it on too thick. It’s owned by a married couple, rather than some multinational, so there’s a personal touch that would be impossible to fake. And the houses have been left alone, wherever possible, leaving the floor plans quirky and the architectural details distinctive."

The Yard

This cosy guesthouse was awarded One MICHELIN Key. The Yard has fourteen character filled bedrooms, each combining fabrics from local designers and restored historic features, ensuring no room is the same in style or design.

The Michelin Guide says: "Bigger than a bed and breakfast but still smaller and more intimate than many of Bath’s city-center hotels, the Yard in Bath is an 18th-century Georgian coaching inn turned stylish and luxurious boutique hotel. 15 rooms across four floors come with antique details and modern flourishes; one comes with a rooftop terrace, a couple more with freestanding tubs."
