Bath is open and ready to welcome you back this summer. Head into the city in July and August for Summer Sundays, a programme of entertainment, events and activities for all the family. Here are seven great ways to make the most of Summer Sundays in Bath…
1. Pop-Up Performances
Bath is well known for its abundance of brilliant buskers across the city, and on Sundays this July and August, there will be even more wonderful pop-up performers around the city centre to enjoy. As you wander around the city centre, look out for a variety of pop-up performances, from the Jane Austen Dancers to Jamma de Samba.
2. Face Painting and Balloon Modelling
On selected Summer Sundays, there will be free face painting or balloon modelling from 12pm to 4pm in Milsom Street. Head to our special Summer Sundays gazebo at the bottom of Milsom Street for children’s face painting, or to receive a wonderfully crafted personal balloon.
3. Arts and Crafts Workshops
Get your creative juices flowing with free family-friendly arts and crafts workshops at 15 Cheap Street between 12pm and 4pm. There will be a different activity each week – from creating something beautiful out of what others might deem rubbish, to planting a flower to take home and watch grow – and you can find details of what’s on each week on the Welcome to Bath website.
4. Entertaining Events
From musical performances and quiz nights to allotment open sessions and summer walks, you are bound to find the ideal event to enjoy on a Summer Sunday. Head to Bath on the Beach to relax and dine at Bath’s most chilled out summer venue, or wander around one of Bath’s popular markets at Green Park Station. Discover an immersive walk-through forest installation in Milsom Street, or enjoy the rides at Carters Steam Fair.
5. Fantastic Festivals
You can also enjoy an array of festivals and events that will be taking place across the city on Summer Sundays. Whether you opt to attend Pub in the Park, The Bath Festival Finale Weekend, Bath Fringe Festival or Bath Comedy Festival, there really is something for everyone to enjoy.
6. Delicious Dining
After you have worked up an appetite exploring the city, sit down to a tasty meal at one of Bath’s cafés and restaurants. Take your pick from welcoming gastropubs, family-friendly cafés, lively pubs, and everything in between.
7. Amazing Accommodation
Make the most of your trip to Bath with an overnight stay. With accommodation options to suit every taste and budget, you're sure to find a great place to rest your head after a long day of celebrating the summer in Bath.
