Play outdoor games and enjoy alfresco food and drinks at Bath on the Beach, located next to the crazy golf course in Royal Victoria Park. For more outdoor entertainment, Bath Carnival takes over the city centre on Saturday 12 July, followed by Bath Summer Fayre from 18 - 20 July.

Outside the city

Enjoy a giant slip n slide, huge paddling pools and beach zone in Summertopia at Avon Valley Adventure Park, just outside Bath.

You can spend a whole day adventuring at Wookey Hole, where your ticket includes entrance to Wookey Hole Caves, museums, circus shows, Dinosaur Grove, and a 4D Cinema.

Learn some local history, meet the visiting animals, explore a poetry-inspired trail and get creative with some craft activities at Somerset Rural Life Museum.

Step back in time this summer and see what life was really like in the Stone Age at Cheddar Gorge & Caves.

Car-crazy kids will love the exhibits at Haynes Motor Museum, while dino fans should head to Longleat to get up close with dinosaurs big and small.

Children can burn off energy with a range of outdoor activities at Mendip Activity Centre's Kids Adventure Camps.

Travelling to and around Bath

Travel to Bath by train with GWR this summer, with trains to Bath Spa from London, Bristol, Cardiff and beyond. If you are travelling in a group of between 3 and 9 adults, you can get a 1/3 off Standard Off-Peak tickets when travelling together with the GroupSave ticket.

Children and young people under the age of 16 can travel for free on buses across the West of England this summer - no bus pass or registration is required. Travel around Bath with First Bus.

Kids go free with National Express this summer! Using the code KIDSFREE, whilst travelling between 1 July - 30 September 2025, up to 3 kids can go free with one paying adult (up to 15 years old). National Express offer coach routes to Bath from towns and cities across the UK. You can also get 20% off your next trip to or from Bath with FlixBus.
