Bath's High Street Shopping Trail

Don your comfy shoes, shoppers, the boutiques of Bath await! Bath is the ideal city for a shopping break due to its compact nature, variety of stores and beautiful surroundings, which promise to transform your shopping spree into something altogether more exciting.

First Stop: Milsom Area

Begin at the top of town, along the handsome shopping promenade of Milsom Street, a real fashion runway and home to Jolly’s – the UK’s oldest department store – which is where you will now find House of Fraser.

Make sure to stop at the indepepndent boutique DuoBoots to browse their gorgeous collection - all of their boots are leather and measured to your calf size so you'll be sure of a comfortable fit.

Tucked away through a handsome Georgian archway is the shopping and dining hub of Milsom Place, the perfect spot to wind up your morning’s activity. Boasting a variety of tasty lunch options from sushi to authentic Italian at Jamie’s or Carluccio’s, lunch deals at Côte or lighter bites at the delis, you’ll find something delicious to help you refuel.

Next Stop: Stall Street

Venture down Stall Street and take a detour to pass under the Georgian arches and gaze at the imposing Bath Abbey, a great photo stop. Wander past the Roman Baths and across Abbey Churchyard to the best-kept secret in Bath, Abbey Green.

Admire the old Plane tree as you cross the cobbles, stopping off in the Foodie Bugle to pick up a souvenir or enjoy a slice of homemade cake.

Shop ‘til you drop in SouthGate

A little further southward will take you to the shopping hotspot of SouthGate, home to dozens of big names and all your favourite brands, so make sure to save your energy for some afternoon splurging!

Stay: The Premier Inn

Once you’ve exhausted your shopping energies (and your credit card!), stroll up St James’s Parade to check in at your centrally located hotel. The Bath Brew House lies mere steps away, so it’s the perfect port of call for pre-dinner drinks.
