Get Lost in a Good Book for Bath Children's Literature Festival

The kids have gone back to school and there’s a slight Autumnal feel in the air - September is well and truly here, which means the Bath Children’s Literature Festival isn’t far away.

This is the largest dedicated children’s literature festival in Europe, so if you’re in Bath from 29th September – 8th October and have little ones or teenagers, don’t miss it!

There’s a huge lineup, but here are just a small handful of unmissable events…

Cressida Cowell – 29th September
We all loved the How to Train Your Dragon series, and now the bestselling author-illustrator is back with a new adventure story, The Wizards of Once. Cressida will be sharing her top tips on becoming an author or illustrator and behind-the-scenes details about the How to Train Your Dragon books becoming films.

Kid Normal with Greg James and Chris Smith – 7th October
These guys are hilarious on BBC Radio 1, so their event about their new book Kid Normal should be great fun. There will be games and plenty of opportunity for the audience to get involved, so make sure you have your best superhero cape at the ready!

All Aboard with Alice Tait – 3rd October
Alice’s designs are wonderful, so this is a fantastic opportunity to get creative with a truly talented illustrator. Learn how to make red buses with spinning wheels and Big Bens with twirling hands!

Maggie Aderin-Pocock – 7th October
Calling all keen young astronomers! If you’re a huge fan of the BBC TV programme The Sky at Night, don’t miss presenter and author Maggie Aderin-Pocock speaking about her new book. Take a journey through the constellations and find out how to begin stargazing in StarFinder for Beginners.

Amy Alward, Gemma Cairney and Sara Barnard – 8th October
There’s a fabulous literary line up especially for teens/young adults too. This trio includes Radio 1’s resident agony aunt Gemma Cairney, author, and editor of Zoe Sugg’s books, Amy Alward, and Zoella Book Club pick Sara Barnard.
