The city is home to an array of fascinating museums, including No.1 Royal Crescent, where you can turn back time to experience life in Regency Bath, and the unique Museum of East Asian Art, the UK’s only museum solely dedicated to the arts and cultures of East and South East Asia. For more contemporary and classic art in a splendid Victorian setting, head to the Victoria Art Gallery, then take a walk across Pulteney Bridge to the majestic Holburne Museum, home to a collection of decorative art and continually changing temporary exhibitions. Don't miss Beckford’s Tower, one of the city's lesser-known highlights, just a 10-minute bus journey outside the city centre. Climb up the tower's spectacular spiral staircase, take in stunning views over Bath, explore a recently excavated grotto, and learn about the controversial life of William Beckford in the first-floor museum.

Bath is also an ideal base for exploring nearby sites, such as the photogenic villages of Lacock and Castle Combe, and Stonehenge’s mysterious megaliths.
